Learn all the tips and tricks to making your dream beach wedding come true here.

Choose the Best Date and Time.

Choosing the best day, date, and time for your beach wedding is one of the most important steps when it comes to planning. Keep in mind that Hawaii’s climate can differ from season to season so you’ll want to consider everything from potential weather conditions to tide levels while selecting your perfect day.

Secure a Wedding Venue.

Now that you’ve determined a few potential dates and times, it’s time to secure your perfect wedding venue. Make sure to look into local guidelines related to beach weddings and learn more about various beach sites such as Kailua Beach Park or Makapu’u Beach Park. These can be great places for ceremonies but may have restrictions surrounding the size of gatherings, time limits, etc. It’s best to plan early so that you can properly accommodate any guests, vendors, or other attendees.

Book Vendors and Services.

Once you have a date and location for your Makapu’u beach wedding, it’s time to book your vendors and services for the big day. Make sure to research local businesses and select the best ones for what you need. This may include photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, DJ, cake decorator, and so much more! Be sure to read reviews from previous customers and make sure they meet any legal requirements needed. Additionally, it’s important to confirm that they possess the required permits or licenses to do business on the beach or such public grounds. With a little preparation beforehand, your special day is sure to be a success!

Create a Guest List and Send Invitations.

Creating a list of your soon-to-be wedded family and friends is key to throwing a successful party. Use an online resource such as WeddingWire or RSVPify, compile all the contacts needed, and take into account any budget restrictions as well as limitations on who you will invite. Once you have your list complete, pick out beautiful invitations that reflect the style of both the location and celebration. Order them in batches, send them out with plenty of time for the recipient to be able to confirm attendance, and include additional information if it is necessary such as directions to the beach wedding venue or a detailed agenda for the special day.

Have A Rehearsal Lunch or Dinner Before The Big Day.

Rehearsal dinners can include everyone involved in the wedding, from family and friends to flower girls and groomsmen. This is a great way to go over any last-minute details, such as where people should stand for the ceremony and what music will be playing. Additionally, it gives everyone a chance to get to know each other better, ensuring that the big day runs smoothly. Decide on a menu beforehand and order or bring in food prior to the rehearsal dinner. To add an extra special touch, arrange for decorations or centerpieces that reflect both your personalities as well as your beach wedding theme!

Once the sun was shining, we made our way down to Makapu’u Beach for the second half of their wedding portrait session. I truly can’t decided which view I prefer: looking down into the piercing blue waters below, or look up towards the biggest ray of light cascading down between two ridges. Pimwalee made it look so easy walking in a wedding gown across the length of the beach!
