Jillian & Trevor // Manhattan Beach Pier Engagement

December 16, 2019

Jillian and Trevor’s Manhattan Beach Pier engagement session takes us on a sunny beach date, with kisses under the pier, and breathtaking views of the coastal landscape. Even more captivating than the gorgeous light refracting off the ocean was Jillian’s infectious, nonstop smile, and Trevor’s admiring gaze back at his bride-to-be.

It All Started With a Summer Job…

Jillian and Trevor met while working at Salt Restaurant in Marina del Rey in the summer of 2016. What began as an innocent flirtation quickly grew into something deeper as they spent more and more time together. They wanted their engagement photos taken at Manhattan Beach Pier (similar to where Trevor proposed). Not only were we blessed with a sunny beach day in the middle of December, but also the clouds stayed away just long enough for sunlight to stream between the columns.

Jillian’s dress, just like the shoot, was sexy, sweet, and playful. The shots outdoors had the lovely backdrop of blue skies and the romantic pier. I loved the soft golden light, seagulls flying by and the sound of crashing waves creating the perfect romantic atmosphere.

And let us not fail to drool over the dreamy golden hour light peeking through the pier columns and making its way to gently cover the couple in its illuminating rays. They laughed and held one another, making it clear the fun they have and the deep love they share.

Trevor took Jillian to a bluff they had visited during their first date, to watch the sunset as they sat beneath a weathered tree that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. After reminiscing on some good memories and how far they had come together on their journey, Trevor got down on one knee to propose.

This is definitely one of the best photoshoot locations for an engagement session in Manhattan Beach!
